Egypt: two people killed and eleven injured in a bombing in North Sinai

Two citizens were killed and eleven were wounded in a bombing that occurred in Northern Sinai city of El-Arish on Monday, 18 April.

An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated when a police van transporting the prisoners was passing by. There are three police conscripts among the wounded.

According the Armed Forces and security forces statements unknown assailants have planted the IED in the El-Khazan area aiming to attack the police van.

A bomb blast ripped through the bus in Jerusalem on Monday afternoon and sparked a huge fire which damaged two buses and a car and left more than 20 people wounded, according to Israeli police's statement.

There were no exact details immediately after an explosion, but the police stated that a small bomb was the cause of an explosion. Israeli domestic security agency Shin Beyt called the explosion a "terrorist attack".  Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat also confirmed there was a bomb and called on the citizens to be vigilant but "continue with your plans".

At least 65 people were killed in a deadly explosion in the city of Lahore in Eastern part of Pakistan, Punjab Province, on Sunday, 27 March, according to the reports of Pakistani Ministry of Interior and Health Ministry. More than 250 more were wounded, many of them in an extremely dangerous condition. Most of the victims of the blast were women and children, as an explosion occurred in the local park.

An explosion was a terrorist attack and was carried out by a suicide bomber who blew himself up close to the parking area of the popular Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park.

At least 41 people were killed and more than 100 injured in a deadly suicide bombing in the small city of Iskandereyah, about 40 kilometers south of Iraqi capital Baghdad. An attack took place on Friday, 25 March, at about 7 p.m. local time.

Eyewitnesses and local officials report that the suicide bomber blew himself up in the middle of a crowd in the park, right after the amateur football game. The trophies were just given to the winners, when the suicide bomber detonated his vest with explosives.

Terrorist group ISIS has trained more than 400 fighters to carry out deadly terrorist attacks in European countries in the waves, deploying interlocking terror cells like the cells that planned and carried out recent attacks in Paris and Brussels, according to the European intelligence services' reports. These terrorist cells will be able to plan the attacks on their own, without coordination with Raqqa or any other ISIS stronghold in Syria and Iraq, and these group will be also able to chose the location, time and method of the attacks, the reports state.

Associated Press - BRUSSELS: The Islamic State group on Tuesday officially claimed responsibility for the attacks in Brussels that left some 35 people dead and threatened further violence.

Belgium launched a huge manhunt Tuesday after a series of bombings claimed by the Islamic State group ripped through Brussels airport and a metro train, killing around 35 people in the latest attack to bring carnage to the heart of Europe.

Two huge blasts, both possibly caused by a suicide bomber, hit the check-in hall at Zaventem Airport, strewing the scene with blood and mangled bodies and sending hundreds of terrified travelers fleeing in terror.

Turkish authorities revealed on Monday, 14 March, that according to the initial investigation carried of the deadly Sunday car bombing in the downtown of Ankara, the bombing was carried out by two suicide bombers, one of them was believed to be a young woman of Kurdish origin.

The Sunday car bombing, that occurred in one of the busiest areas of downtown Ankara and the city's transportation and economic key area, left 37 people dead and 125 people wounded.

A massive explosion went off on Sunday, 13 March, in the capital of Turkey Ankara, as the car laden with explosives ripped through one of the busiest neighborhoods of the city, the Kizilay Square, near Guven Park.

The Kizilay Square is a key commercial and transport hub of the city, there are also many embassies and governmental buildings located nearby.

An official statement of the provincial governor stated that the car laden with the explosives was a cause of an explosion that left 37 people dead and 125 wounded. The injured people were reportedly transported to 10 various hospitals in different parts of the city, while some of the wounded are in critical condition, stated the medics.

Reuters - CAIRO: Egypt's president said on Wednesday a Russian plane that crashed in Sinai last year was downed by terrorists seeking to damage its tourism industry and ties with Moscow - the first official indication from Cairo that foul play lay behind the disaster.

"Has terrorism ended? No, it has not, but it will if we unite. Whoever downed the Russian plane, what did he mean? He meant to hit tourism, and to hit relations with Russia," Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said in a televised speech.

A militant Kurdish group named the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK) has issued a statement on Friday, 19 February, claiming responsibility for the deadly attack carried out in the city of Ankara on Wednesday, 17 February.

The Kurdistan Freedom Falcons is a small and recently created militant group linked to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and is a front for the PKK attacks against the civilians in Turkey, according to the Turkish government.

At least 28 people were killed and more than 60 people injured as a result of a powerful explosion that rocked the capital of Turkey Ankara on Wednesday, 17 February. An explosion occurred at about 4 p.m. local time in the area close to the Turkish Parliament building and the headquarters of the Turkish Armed Forces and has reportedly targeted a military service vehicle transporting military personnel, according to Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus.

Mr. Kurtumlus strongly condemned the attack in his official statement and declared that an investigation will be carried out and those who are responsible for this "act of terror" will be held accountable.

Russian officials declared on Tuesday, 17 November, that a homemade explosive device planted inside the airplane was the cause of the airplane crash over Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, that occurred on 31 October and killed all 224 people on board.

ISIS group has claimed responsibility for downing of a Russian airplane and stated it was an act of retaliation for Russian airstrikes and bombings of Syria.

The Head of Russian intelligence service FSB Alexander Bortnikov declared it on Tuesday during the official meeting with the Russian President Vladimit Putin and Russian officials including Defense Ministry representatives.

France: Multiple terrorist attacks in Paris left scores dead, ISIS claims responsibility

French capital Paris was hit by a wave of coordinated terrorist attacks on Friday, 13 November, leaving at least 132 people dead. This attack is the deadliest terrorist attack in Europe since 2004 train bombings in Madrid.

The attacks happened almost simultaneously at six different locations in the French capital and were well planned and coordinated. A massive explosion went off at the stadium Stade de France in the Northern part of Paris, where the friendly France-Germany football play was happening at the moment. French President Francois Hollande and many French and German officials were present at the game. A suicide bomber reportedly blew himself off at one of the gates of the Stadium. The number of people killed at this attack is still not mentioned by the French police. French President was immediately evacuated from the Stadium and headed for the emergency meeting with his Cabinet in order to deal with this situation. People were safely evacuated from the stadium a couple of hours later.

Reuters -BEIRUT: At least 43 people were killed and more than 240 wounded on Thursday in two suicide bomb blasts claimed by Islamic State in a crowded residential district in Beirut's southern suburbs, a stronghold of the Shi'ite Muslim group Hezbollah.

The explosions were the first attacks in more than a year to target a Hezbollah stronghold inside Lebanon, and came at time when the group is stepping up its involvement in the Syrian civil war -- a fight which has brought Sunni Islamist threats and invective against the Iran-backed Shi'ite group.

Protesters were mourning the victims of the bombing and condemning an attack, blaming the current government for it. The rallies later turned into massive anti-government protests that continued on Sunday and Monday as well, as tens of thousands of people have been marching in the center of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and other Turkish cities and protested against the rule of Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government.

AL-JAZEERA - SANA'A, YEMEN: Suicide bombers have struck a mosque in Yemen's capital in an attack targeting Shia worshippers that killed at least 25 people and wounded dozens, medics and witnesses said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility but Sanaa has been shaken by a string of bombings by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group in recent months targeting Shia Muslims.Thursday's blast ripped through the Balili mosque where Houthi Shia rebels who control Sanaa go to pray, according to witnesses.

Violent clashes erupted on Monday, 31 August, in the capital of Ukraine Kyiv during the protests at the Parliament building, where the MPs were voting for the controversial law allowing to amend Ukrainian Constitution.

The law was strongly criticized by many legal experts, politicians and activists as the law that will benefit Russian interests as it is expected to grand the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk the special status within Ukrainian territory and to grant them wide autonomy. Huge explosion occurred in Greater Cairo early on Thursday, 20 August, when a car bomb went off in front of the State Security Building in Qaliubiya’s Shubra El-Kheima district. Shubra El-Kheima is located north of Cairo and is considered being a part of Greater Cairo. An explosion was so powerful that it was heard in many districts of Cairo including Dokki, Zamalek and Downtown, according to the accounts of Cairo residents.

An explosion left 29 people injured, among them 6 policemen and police officers and 7 conscripts. Other wounded are civilians. The blast left no deaths, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Interior. Egyptian Ministry of Health in its turn reported that most of the wounded received minor injuries. They were treated at the nearby hospital, while some of the injured were released from the hospitals and sent home.

This Friday's double bombing was the first major attack on Afghanistan's capital since the announcement of death of Mullah Omar, leader of Taliban.

Egypt: four soldiers were killed in North Sinai attack launched by ISIS

Egypt’s based Sinai Province group, an ISIS affiliate, has claimed responsibility for an attack against Egyptian Armed Forces carried out in North Sinai on Thursday, 23 July.

An Armed Forces official spokesperson Mohamed Samir stated that the bombing struck the military vehicle in the village near the border city of Rafah. The roadside bomb, that hit the armored vehicle, killed four soldiers, among them one officer, and left three soldiers injured, according to the official statement.
