Ukrainian Parliament failed to vote for government’s resignation amid the continuous massive protests all over Ukraine

Tens of thousands of protesters have gathered since the morning on Tuesday in front of the building of Ukrainian Parliament as the Parliament was expected to discuss the non-confidence motion to the government and its resignation initiated recently by the oppositional forces.

People have filled all the area in front of the Parliament, though the situation is tense with the alternative meeting of Yanukovich’s and government’s supporters gathered in front of the Parliament as well. There were reportedly nearly 150 people among the supporters of the current authorities; they were cordoned by the police forces in order to avoid their mixing with the anti-governmental protests. Additional security forces have been deployed on the scene with the entrances to the building blocked and lines of riot police and special forces “Berkut” and standing in front of the protesters.

Ukraine: The ruling Party of Regions invites all the political powers to create a coalition

The currently ruling in Ukraine Party of Regions, which is likely to take the majority of the votes according to the preliminary results of the counting, is ready to hold the negotiations about the creating of the parliamentarian majority with all the political powers, the independent candidates and with other fractions as well, stated Sergiy Tygypko, Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Social Policy.

During his speech on the press-conference he stressed that the most important task for the Party of Regions on the current stage is to create and form the working majority in the Parliament as soon as possible.

Mr. Tygypko stressed that Party of Regions is ready for the negotiations with those candidates who have been running independently, but of course the party is open for the talks with different political powers too.

Nearly 4 thousand people participated in the demonstrations in Ukrainian capital

Two demonstrations took place today in Ukrainian capital Kyiv on the eve of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

One of the demonstrations was dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the now ruling Party of Regions and brought its supporters to the Kyiv downtown. Supporters of Party of Regions have gathered on the Mikhailivska Square, in the historical part of Kyiv. According to the police’s reports there is around 3 thousand people gathered to support the ruling party. In addition to that the celebrations of the party’s anniversary were held in Kyiv and also in many other cities nationawide.

Supporters of the oppositional forces and particularly of the United Opposition Batkivshchyna (Homeland) Party headed at the same time to Sofiyivska Square in down-town Kyiv. Police and journalists reported nearly 1 thousand of people participated in the march and more supporters arrived later in the evening.
