Amid the ongoing protests against Egypt’s current President Mohamed Morsy and his ruling regime and the massive rallies of the Islamists in support of the President and his rights for this position Military meats the leaders and the representatives of different political forces and parties in Egypt to discuss the ways of resolving the political crisis in the country.

We would remind here that Egypt’s Armed Forces issued an official statement on Monday, 1 July, declaring that they are calling on Mohamed Morsy and his administration and also on the oppositional parties as well to find the common solution of the deepening political crisis in the country and announcing that if this solution will not be found, military will intervene with its roadmap for the nearest political future of the country. In its second statement military leaders have rejected the rumors about the military coup against the current President.

After speech of Egypt’s President Mohamed Morsy which he has delivered on Tuesday night stating that he is a legitimate President and he will not leave his position the protests continued with the new powers.

Meanwhile as the deadline of the military 48-hour ultimatum is close different political powers of the country, oppositional parties and Islamists as well, are expected to meet with the military leaders to discuss the current situation and to create a roadmap for Egypt.

Defence Minister Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will meet on Wednesday the general commanders of the Egyptian Armed Forces at the Defence Ministry headquarters to discuss recent domestic developments as Wednesday's 48-hour deadline approaches.

Mohamed ElBaradei, delegated by the June 30 Front and the National Salvation Front (NSF) to negotiate in the name of political powers, was also called to participate in the meeting, as confirmed by Mohamed Abul-Ghar, head of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, on television.

Representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), Tamarod (Rebel) campaign, ultra-conservative Salafist Nour Party, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II are expected to join the meeting as well.

During an anti-Morsi Rebel campaign press conference Wednesday, Rebel spokesman Mahmoud Badr announced that they will continue to push for President Mohamed Morsi to step down and for the rest of their demands to be met. Badr slammed Morsi's Tuesday night speech, stressing that the army has the full trust of the Egyptian people and will protect their lives, not allowing for civil war as hinted in Muslim Brotherhood statements.

Rebel campaign supporters repeated the call for demonstrations at the Republican Guards headquarters on Wednesday at 4pm.

Islamist rally in Cairo's Nasr City to support Mohamed Morsy

At 3.30pm, the National Alliance to Support Legitimacy is also expected to give a statement. The Brotherhood-led political alliance that includes the moderate-Islamist Wasat Party, the Salafist Watan Party and Al-Gamaa Al-Islamiya's Building and Development Party, stated on Monday that they refuse any attempts from the army to turn against the legitimate president, urging the public to support their elected president and their constitution.

Earlier Wednesday, Al-Gamaa Al-Islamiya refuted statements that called for referendum on presidential elections, and its most recent position is still to be confirmed.

Egyptians are expecting a statement from the army as soon as the 48-hour deadline they gave on Monday expires, around 4pm. Cairo time. The ultimatum they gave the Egyptian political forces requires they either "fulfill the people's demands," or the army will present a road map for the country including all political currents.
