The 6th
Forum Ukraine-Europe has started in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, on 12th
May 2013. This Forum is dedicated to the perspectives of the integration of
Ukraine and European Union.
According to the
statement of the Forum published on the main web-site of the event the
key-issues of the Form are the perspectives of Ukrainian integration in EU and
also the main problems of the political relations between Ukraine and the
countries of Euro Zone.
There are also
the questions of the economical cooperation between EU, Ukraine and Russia and
the direction of the structure reforms imposed by Ukrainian government among
the key issues to be discussed during the Forum.
It is also
expected that the issues of the future signing of the Association Agreement
between Ukraine and EU and the development of the democracy and also the
investment perspectives of Ukraine will be negotiated.
There are more
than 300 representatives of Ukraine, EU and Russia participating in the Forum.
The event is
planned to be held during two days in Budapest and was organized by Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Hungary and the Institute of the Eastern European Studies of
Warsaw University.
It is also worth mentioning that Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, has declared before that there are still a lot of things to do for Ukraine before the signing of the Association Agreement would be possible.
Meanwhile
Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovich has appointed on 13 May Konstantin
Eliseev as the new Head of the Representative Department of Ukraine in EU. Mr.
Eliseev is also his advisor in the issues of the European integration of
Ukraine.
According to the
Mr. Eliseev’s statement the final decision regarding EU integration of Ukraine
and the signing of the Agreement Association could be taken already in October
2013. In addition to that he stated that Ukraine made good achievements
fulfilling the conditions of EU for the integration process.
In addition to
that Council of European Union approved on 13 May the new simplified visa
regime for Ukrainian citizens, according to the statement of Mr. Eliseev.
