Egypt's
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi meets with Palestinian President Mahnoud Abbas
in Cairo on Thursday, 10 September, according to the state-owned MENA news
agency.
Abdel Fattah
El-Sisi and Mahmoud Abbas are expected to discuss the latest developments and
state of affairs in Palestine and in the region and the further cooperation
between the two countries.
Prior to visit
Egypt Palestinian leader had an official meeting with Donald Tusk, President of
European Council, whom he met on Wednesday, 9 September, in order to discuss
the latest developments in Palestine and the "standstill of political
process" regarding negotiations with Israel and an issue of recognizing
Palestine as a sovereign state.
Thus, Mahmoud
Abbas is expected to visit Cairo on Thusday, and there are currently no details
on how long he intends to stay in Egyptian capital.
Egypt in its turn re-opened Rafah border
crossing between Egypt and Gaza on 7 and 8 September in order to allow the
residents of Gaza who intend to perform Hajj to pass on Egyptian territories
and continue their way to Saudi Arabia.
