According to the judicial sources Egypt’s Prosecutor General Talaat
Abdullah has ordered on Saturday, 29 June, to start the investigations against
several prominent oppositional leaders, one day ahead of the planned massive
anti-regime protests in Egypt.
Prosecutor General has reportedly ordered the judges to start the
investigations of the recent complaints against the oppositional figures
accused of conspiring against Egypt in attempt to overthrow the current regime.
Among those accused political figures are Mohamed El Baradei, Amr Moussa
and Hamdeen Sabbahy, who are the key figures and main leaders of Egypt’s
biggest oppositional umbrella group National Salvation Front.
In addition to that the investigations to be started also against
Mahmoud Badr, one of the organizers of the “Rebel” campaign which aimed to
collect more than 15 million signatures against Mohamed Morsy till the end of
June and to withdraw confidence form the President demanding the early
presidential elections.
It’s worth mentioning that the “Rebel” campaign has reportedly gathered
more than 22 million signatures against Mohame Morsy in Egypt, and the massive
demonstrations against the current President’s regime and Muslims Brotherhood
are expected to be held on Sunday, 30 June, when it will be the first
anniversary of Morsy’s presidency.
The prosecution still didn’t announce the total number of the complaints
filed against the oppositional leaders.
Meanwhile massive demonstrations against Morsy and his regime continue
in Egypt nationwide on the eve of the planned actions on 30 June. Supporters of
Egypt’s President Mohamed Morsy and Muslim Brotherhood in their turn have also gathered
on Friday for the massive dem0onstrations in order to support the right of
Mohamed Morsy for presidency. Islamists’ supporters have also started the
sit-in today in Nasr City.
The demonstrations in several Egyptian governorates turned violent since
Friday with the clashes between the protesters and the headquarters of Muslim
Brotherhood being attacked and torched in the country.
Total numbers of the injured are at least 600 people, with 8 people
officialle dead during the wave of the violent protests.
