Andreas Gross, the head of the observers’ delegation of the PACE
(Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) on the parliamentary
elections in Ukraine stated that the democratic potential of Ukraine was not realized
during the elections.
“Ukrainian citizens deserve the better results of the elections. The
oligarchization of the whole electoral process means that the citizens have
lost the opportunity to control the process of the elections. The people have
simply lost the hope”, stressed Mr. Gross.
In addition to that the head of the long-term mission of the observers
of the Bureau of Democratic Institutes and Human Rights Audrew Glover said that
the absence of any adequate reaction and response of the authorities on the
reports about the violations led to the creation of the atmosphere of the
lawlessness and total absence of the punishment.
According to his words such a situation just can cast a shadow on the
elections and the process of the democracy development which was demonstrated
by Ukraine before.
At the same time, the representatives of the OSCE observing mission in
Ukraine said they were disappointed with the electoral process and the counting
of the results and estimated the elections negative due to lack of fairness and
transparency.
