| Arseny Yatsenyuk, Ukrainian oppositional leader |
One of the leaders of Ukraine’s united oppositional block and head of
the Council of Ukraine’s United Oppositional Party Batkivshchyna (Homeland)
Arseny Yatsenyuk stated during his speech at the International forum YES in
Yalta that in case the opposition will win the parliamentary election it is
ready to cooperate with Russian authorities, but there are three issues which
the opposition cannot accept and there could be no compromises regarding them.
Arseny Yatsenyuk said there is three “No” in the future cooperation with
Russian if the opposition will come to power. Among those “No” is the rejection
of Customs Union, the rejection of the Military Block with Russia and “No” to
the law giving Russian language the status of the second state’s official language.
Those three issues are unacceptable for the future cooperation between the
neighboring countries, said the oppositional leader.
In addition to that Arseny Yatsenyuk said that Russian side will never
review the terms of the gas deals already signed with Ukraine. He explained,
that after those documents, known as Kharkiv agreements about the changes in
the gas deals, signed in 2010, were ratified by Ukrainian Parliament and
President Victor Yanukovich, they received the status of the international
agreements, so Ukraine has lost its chance to review their terms in the Court.
It’s worth mentioning here also that Ukrainian opposition representative
said earlier that they would probably sue Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovich
at the European Court for Human Rights.
